Publication of the final report on UF2 project – two-stage ultrafiltration for drinking water treatment

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management ( www.bmlfuw.gv.at) recently published the final report on the UF2 research project of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in cooperation with Aqua-System Technologie GmbH and SFC Umwelttechnik GmbH.

In this research project the capacities of membrane ultrafiltration and of an ultrafiltration / nanofiltration membrane modified by coating were analysed with regard to their retention capability of various substances, and the applicability of a two-stage membrane filtration as an alternative process to conventional drinking water treatment technologies, especially as a disinfection process, were verified.
