This innovative ultrafiltration technology through micropores helps provide clean and safe water worldwide, thus sustainably improving the lives of many people.
C-MEM Functionality
The C-MEM™ technology uses micropores (average pore size 201 nm – sterile filtration) made of drinking water-grade HDPE in 0.3-0.5 mm wide hollow fibers to remove contaminants from the water. These hollow fibers, bundled in cartridges, only allow clean water to penetrate their interior. Bacteria, viruses, and other solid particles are retained on the outside of the fibers. This produces drinking water free from pathogens and with a neutral taste. The C-MEM™ technology replaces conventional techniques in just one step and achieves far better effluent values. C-MEM™ is an ideal pre-treatment for UV systems that cannot sufficiently disinfect water with high turbidity.
The C-MEM™ technology can be used in various areas, including central drinking water treatment from river, lake, spring, and rainwater. It is also excellent for decentralized water filtration in remote areas without electricity, on campsites, and during expeditions. Additionally, it supports aid workers in disaster areas and can be used to treat swimming and fish ponds as well as service water.
