For a project in Upper Austria, we supplied a water cooperative with a C-MEM ultrafiltration system to serve as a pre-treatment stage prior to a UV disinfection system.
The challenge: The spring water occasionally exhibits elevated turbidity and suspended solids levels. These contaminants cause the downstream UV system to regularly switch to bypass or shut down, as the required UV transmittance can no longer be guaranteed.
The solution: C-MEM™ ultrafiltration.
The C-MEM UF system reliably removes suspended solids and turbidity, reducing them to < 1 NTU. This ensures that the UV system consistently receives high-quality feed water and can be operated safely even when raw water quality fluctuates.
