Disinfection systems like UV systems are only effective with very clear water (high UV transmission), which is difficult to achieve with high turbidity levels > 1 NTU without effective ultrafiltration. Additionally, deposits caused by turbidity in storage tanks and reservoirs create further problems. Space constraints often complicate the installation of comprehensive water treatment systems.
