As in previous years SFC Umwelttechnik GmbH also participated in this year´s SEEGEN operator experience exchange, which took place in the NOI-Techpark Bozen from April 4 – 5, 2018.
C-MEM specialist Dr. Simon Jabornig presented SFCU´s C-MEM ultrafiltration technology for the treatment of flue gas condensate in biomass heating plants.
The technology is already applied successfully in several biomass heating plants, among them the Austrian plants Holzwärme Flachau, Pfeifer Kundls and RZ Klagenfurt.
In combination with precipitation C-MEM separates ashes and other dissolved substances from the condensate wastewater so that it can be discharged directly. And by heat recovery considerable costs can be saved e.g. in Flachau 300,000 kWh were recovered within 3 years (2013 – 2016) and wastewater charges for more than 20,000 m³ were saved, which means a total saving of ca. 100,000 EUR.
