The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management ( www.bmlfuw.gv.at ), represented by Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH, as funding agency largely finances a new research project of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in cooperation with Aqua-System Technologie GmbH and SFC Umwelttechnik GmbH.

In this research project the capacities of membrane ultrafiltration and of an ultrafiltration / nanofiltration membrane modified by coating shall be analysed with regard to their retention capability of various substances, and the applicability of a two-stage membrane filtration as an alternative process to conventional drinking water treatment technologies, especially as a disinfection process, shall be verified.
