SFC Umwelttechnik is proud to play a leading role in wastewater treatment and nutrient removal from wastewater. With the recent revision of the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (UWWTD), which sets stricter requirements for phosphorus and nitrogen removal, our advanced C-TECH™ technology has gained even greater significance. This directive now requires phosphorus levels to be below 0.5 mg/l (down from the previous 1 mg/l) and nitrogen removal of over 80% (up from the previous over 70%).
Our C-TECH™ technology already meets these tightened limits, once again setting standards in wastewater treatment. Through simultaneous nitrification/denitrification and exceptionally high biological phosphorus elimination, we effortlessly achieve these stringent requirements.
Worldwide, over 1,500 C-TECH™ plants are in operation, with plant capacities of up to 245,000 m³/day. Overall, C-TECH™ treats more than 20 billion liters per day globally. This impressive figure demonstrates that C-TECH™ is among the technological leaders in global wastewater treatment. Our plants are not only effective but also highly environmentally friendly. They feature very low energy consumption, achieved through our special OUR process control, and they emit significantly less nitrous oxide than conventional systems.
Advanced nutrient removal in wastewater is crucial for protecting our water resources and the health of our ecosystems. With C-TECH™ technology, we actively contribute to improving water quality and sustainably protecting the environment. Our commitment to innovation and sustainability is reflected in each of our plants and underscores our vision of “clean water for the world.”
Trust SFC Umwelttechnik and our C-TECH™ technology to continue meeting the highest standards in wastewater treatment in the future. Together, we can overcome the challenges of nutrient removal in wastewater and create a clean, sustainable future.
