This advanced process integrates the processes of carbon oxidation, nitrification, denitrification, and bio-P removal in a single continuous cycle. Thanks to this innovation, equalization tanks, mixers, and shock loads required in conventional SBR plants become unnecessary.
C-TECH™ Functionality
Unlike conventional SBR processes, the C-TECH™ process utilizes an anaerobic selector that effectively suppresses bulking sludge-forming bacteria and increases bio-P removal. The simultaneous execution of carbon oxidation and nitrification and denitrification within the same tank allows for shorter cycle times and makes separate denitrification cycles unnecessary. These processes are controlled by the oxygen uptake rate (OUR), which monitors the pollution level of the wastewater and optimally adjusts the aeration time and intensity. This leads to an extremely economical operation with low operating costs.
Within a C-TECH™ cycle, the phases of aeration, settling, and decanting alternate continuously. This ensures all necessary reaction conditions for simultaneous nutrient removal and sludge settling are met. A dry weather cycle typically lasts only four hours, ensuring efficient use of all installed machinery and equipment. The high sludge concentration, including partial granulation and good settleability in the C-TECH™ tanks, also ensures exceptionally high cleaning performance.
