From May 3 – 4 representatives of Shandong Guoxin Environmental Systems Co. Ltd. and the organization ECED visited SFC Umwelttechnik GmbH for discussions on cooperation concerning wastewater treatment with SFCU´s C-TECH technology and especially drinking water treatment with the C-MEM technology in China as according to recent estimations ca. 70 percent of the groundwater in China is not potable, because either toxic or contaminated and hence useless. Even official bodies do not deny this anymore.
Not only industry, but also agriculture is to blame for this situation. Fertilizers, insecticides and wastes get into lakes, rivers and groundwater. Hence contaminated water means an increasing health hazard for the people in China. Water for the ca. 1.4 billion Chinese is scarce anyway: 20 percent of the world population are Chinese, but they only have 7 percent of the earth´s freshwater.
Consequently, drinking water treatment is a major issue in China, and therefore the Chinese are placing great hopes on the C-MEM ultrafiltration technology in order to solve their problems in this matter.
